Top Mount Water to Air Intercooler Base V1 Set Up

Stop right there!! I know you, and you have been considering a top mount Air to Air intercooler (Air Heater) set up on your vehicle.. Why bother with when just as easily, you can run a better and more effective W2A intercooler setup! While front mount intercoolers are great, creating the space for the large Front Mount Intercooler and charge pipes just isn't quite as easy as you like. AND have you considered the extra piping may create even more boost lag? What is way easier is routing some rubber lines to the front of your car.

This Water to Air system has a small radiator (mounted in-front of your normal radiator) cooling the water with fresh cold air, which is pumped to the Barrel W2A intercooler that Cools the compressed air from your turbo to your motor optimising performance and reducing Temps.

This particular Kit is a compact, affordable entry level setup to get you on track to running some lower IATs and EGTS to help improve performance and help look after your motor.

This setup has been tried and tested on The Cliffords Motorsport LN106 Hilux for over a year. This has Safely Run 18psi-30psi on a non boost compensated pump, Factory Toyota Turbo with a 3" turbo back exhaust.

With a switch controlling the 12v waterpump, we have seen temperature drops of 100 degrees (EGT Probe in Downpipe) nearly seconds after turning the pump on while in conditions of high load (Hills and Highway).

The conventional Top Mount Air to Air intercoolers are designed to transfer heat quickly and effectively through the transfer of air, the problem is, they are located in the hottest part of your car (on top of motor and exhaust) and unfortunately quickly and effectively HEAT the air going into your motor. 

What makes this even better is this is ideal for off-road applications like mud bogs or crawling where normally your engine bay doesn't see much fresh air. Due to the W2A Intercoolers radiator being mounted up front in the cleaner air, the water pump can continue to pump cooled water to the intercooler, still proving effective in low speed high load situations.
